My Own Health Improvement
I am able to obtain all the improvement with low glycemic index food diet, regular exercise and high quality nutraceuticles. I refuse to take medication all along the way especially with my severe bone problems.
From Jan 2010 to Dec 2011
My LDL change: drop from 120 to 77 (normal <130)
My cholesterol change: drop from 197 to 159 (normal: 120 ~200)
My HDL change (good cholesterol): increase from 65 to 70 (normal >= 46)
My triglycerine: stay almoste the same: 59 to 60 (normal <150)
My bone density on the hip: improve from 0.936 in 2006 to 1.009 in 2011
My weight loss from 150lb to 115lb (from May 2004 to August 2004). I am able to maintain the weight pretty well since 7 years ago.

Gone with Wind: my mother’s chronic health issues
My parents are aging. For me, taking care of my parents is very essential and full-filling. Who else would we take care of if we don't take care of my parents who gave life to me and brought me up with so much hardship. Now they both have retired and it is so important for me to make sure they are enjoying their life and live a healthy life for the rest of 20 to 25 years!
Here is the life changing story about my mother:
Most of you know that my mother lives with me at least 6 months out of a year. The rest of time she spends time in Shanghai with my brother. She does all the cooking and house chores for us. Her passion is gardening. She grows organic vegetables and fruits in the backyard. She grows over 30 kinds of vegetable and fruit. She seems to be having her ideal life style as a retired agriculture professor.
However unknown to most visitors, she has been suffering many chronic health issues for many years in her life. She was born in 1945 in a small village of Southeastern China and during her teenage years, China went through Great Leap (1957 to 1959) where normal life was completely turned upside down to support China’s Great leap to communism. Iron works were burned into iron to make steel for weapons that was hoped to “liberate Taiwan”. As a result, deep starvation was prevailing in the entire country. There was insufficient food to feed the population. Staring from her teenage years, my mother suffered from severe digestive ailments and insomnia. Her period started at age of 20 and ended at age of 45, very unusual for most women.
In her early 30ths, she started to have heart problems. Her heart would often beat up extremely fast and she felt that she would not be able to breath. Later on, blood pressure and high cholesterol also became part of her daily life. She had been on medication for many years to take care of her heart and high blood pressure. Starting early 50s, her joint and knee started to hurt when she walked up stairs and after she has been sitting for a while. She looked at all these issues as part of aging and just dealt with medications. To help with her health problems, I had been buying Costco supplements and other supplements recommended by Chinese pharmacies. Since 1995 she has been taking Costco calcium, Fish oil and multi-vitamin regularly. Some products helped, but it was often irregular or provided only mild relief. However, we continued using those products with the thought that they should be helping her ailments. Starting about 10 years ago, we started to add Glucosamine to ease her joint issues. When Grape seed pills became available, we regularly bought those. Alfred’s auntie often gave my mother Grape Seep Pills from Costco as gifts every time my mother goes back to China. She has been very persistent in taking all the Costco supplements and the medications she got from Chinese pharmacies back in China. Her chronic conditions remained the same and there was no single improvement. She still was not able to sleep well. She still felt heart pain once in a while. She was enjoying her retired life as a gardener in the sunny southern California, but it was not optimal due to all the chronic conditions.
Life came to a change in May of 2010. When I learned about some of the health supplements from one of my best friend in an unexpected way. I knew her for many years, but like most of my friends, not many knew my mother had so many chronic issues. During a casual conversation about my complements to her skin and asked her what she used, She mentioned some of the products in the area of heart health digestive health, anti-oxidants and Amino Acids to me. A week later all the products arrived. After 1 week of on HGH Enhance(Amino Acids), her sleep problem has significantly improved. She was on HGH Enhancer only for 2 weeks and did not feel that she needed it any more for sleep. Since then her sleep has been very good. We just finished our 3 week backpacking trip in Europe. For the entire trip she was able to sleep a good 8 hours at night and constantly took naps during train ride, bus ride or boat ride. This is amazing since so many years she told me she could not sleep on a “new strange bed” which meant she could not sleep if she visits a new place and had to sleep on a new bed. This trip we visited 10 cities over 5 countries. For some of the trip it was very intense since we would move place every 2 days, ie. During the last week, we visited Venice, Florence, Naples and Rome within less than a week. To my full enjoyment, my mother was able to sleep very well. Her excuse of not able to sleep on a new / strange bed was completely gone. It has been over 2 months since she was on her only dose of HGH Enhancer for 2 weeks. Her sleep problem is just completely fixed. I look at her sleep issue as a engineering bug in her body for many years and this bug was fixed!!!
Yes. She is taking Anti-oxidants and Omega III during the trip as daily supplements. She told me that she never felt so healthy during her entire life. While in Germany last week, my mother measured her blood pressure every day and it is about 116 ~ 120 / 70 ~ 75. Remember she was on blood pressure medication for over 10 years and her blood pressure was as high as 150 over 100. After taking these supplements, she completely stopped her prescribed medication. Now her blood pressure has been as normal as 30 year old for the past 2 months. Even with the intense backpacking she had been doing for the past 3 weeks along with catching up trains with a few minute time windows (including climbing up and down stairs with luggage), she is amazingly keeping her blood pressure so normal.
FYI, in Europe train is always on time. However, most time there is only a few minute window to change trains during transit. For example, we took a train from Paris to Munich. In between we had to change a train at Stuttgart and we only had less than 5 minute of time to get off and find our platform and get on the next train to Munich. Dragging all our luggage to catch a the next train was quite intense. The same thing happened at Verona where we go on a wrong train to Venice. I am sharing this to highlight that travel among so many cities we did pay some price of stress during transit.
Thus, I am very proud of my mother that she handled all the stress very well. All in all, my mother and I are very grateful for the products that my friend introduced to her. This brought a second life to her.
